Some of you may have been wondering why we haven’t booked any gigs over the last couple of months. Many of you have given us venues to check out and some have even gone as far as stating you would be more than happy to ask the venues for us. We really appreciate this enthusiasm.

With this in mind we had a brain storming session (it hurt but we got through it) and came up with the idea of getting you to book gigs for us. We’re not expecting you to book Wembley Stadium or the Albert Hall, all we ask is for a venue big enough to rock out in, like a small pub or club. In fact we’ll even come and play in your living room if that’s what you want from us.

I can imagine you’re thinking to yourself “so what’s the catch?” – well …….. we’re not in the position to play for free but for a small fee of £250 plus some travelling expenses, we will be at the place of your choice and you will have one of the most memorable experiences of your life. This may seem daunting but if you think about it, you only need to get 50 people to come at £5 a head to cover your basic costs instantly and the more people you get the cheaper it will be.

How you put on your gig is up to you. If you want to book other bands that’s fine or if you choose to charge an entry fee then anything you make is yours. We will not ask for a cut of the door. All we ask is that the gig is an open event, that we’re allowed to sell our merchandise, for you to send us information on the venue, the date you would like us to play and the fee of £250.

Once the venue has been chosen we will help to promote the gig. We can supply you with posters and flyers (if needed) and post all the information on our sites. For those who might want to book us in another country could you contact us first please? We would have to come to a different arrangement due to the costs of travelling and transporting our gear

Blue Gillespie

Blue Gillespie – A blues/rock ensemble aimed at music fans of all ages who are dissatisfied or have some pessimistic demons to exorcise.

The name originates in the idea that all of us have an alter-ego made up of the most negative aspects of our personality and the only way to prevent our angry doppelgänger from surfacing in polite company is to vent through music.

Gillespie is the name of the bands alter-ego (mainly because of the mischievous way it rolls off the tongue). The lyrics are his mind, the bass is his foot, the guitar is his hand and the drum his heart.

Blue Gillespie is meant for people who recognise a “Gillespie” in themselves. The angry voice inside, spitting and cursing at a world which seems never to offer a foothold as leverage to enlightenment. The desperate blue voice that has no ear in everyday social surroundings.

By purging their alter-egos through the music, listeners hopefully may feel closer to the more positive, optimistic aspects of their nature.
